Rurl Amos is a distinguished criminal defense attorney and the founding president of Dunamis Law Firm, based in New York City. Born in Charleroi, Belgium, Rurl migrated to the United States with his family at the age of nine. Growing up in a working-class neighborhood in Brooklyn, he witnessed firsthand how legal representation often determines whether justice is served or denied. Rurl pursued his undergraduate studies at Princeton University, majoring in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations. He went on to graduate magna cum laude from Yale Law School, where he was an editor on the Yale Law Journal and led the Criminal Justice Clinic. After law school, Rurl clerked for the Honorable Livia Mercado on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, where he honed his legal reasoning and deepened his understanding of appellate procedure.
